Born Shelton Jackson Lee in 1957 in Atlanta. Grew up in Brooklyn, attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, and runs 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks. Won Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for BlacKkKlansman (2018).
