Pipelines and scholarships

SNMA (Student National Medical Association) chapters at most HBCUs. AAMC's Fee Assistance Program for application costs. Tour for Diversity in Medicine for HBCU pre-meds.

HBCU vs PWI med schools

Howard, Meharry, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Charles R. Drew all train Black physicians at very high rates. Apply to a mix of HBCUs and PWIs.

Personal statement

Lead with the specific moment that made you want to do medicine. Don't open with broad statements about helping people.
